The big paradigm shift we need to make is that we come to grips with the fact that we're the most intelligent species on the planet, but not necessarily very intelligent in an absolute sense. I always figured dolphins were the most intelligent species on the planet, since 1) they have a higher brain size to body weight ratio than humans and 2) they are not incessantly trying to kill each other off
